Mahbub

Wilbraham Rd, Chorlton

They're on the ball, it's fresh and decent - but it's pretty generic.

This is a well established Indian takeway in Chorlton. The food is usually of a decent standard, but the curry dishes tend to be very oily - which is a common problem with such places. A lot of the food - including the excellent naan - is cooked in the tandoor. The meat is quite tender, but the sauces tend to be heavy.

For this trip we had the chicken jalfrezi, which was very hot but not bursting with flavour, and the garlic tandoori chicken, which was better. £15 for two starters and two main courses is not bad, and the staff are very friendly. The open kitchen is a nice touch, but the food here is not quite up to scratch.
