Black Lion Hotel

Reopened late 2011 -Good news.

This pub has now closed - August 2010

Chapel St.

This is a new addition to the burgeoning real ale scene springing up on the Salford/Manchester border. The Black Lion is a grand old pub with an attractive interior. It has recently been 'rescued' by Tim from the New Oxford, and the place seems to be thriving. The food looks interesting, but we have yet to taste it. There are usually five real ales on at a time.

  1. What a terrible shame, this was a really nice pub.

  3. It has reopened, and is due to serve £3 roasts between 12:30 and 1:30 starting from tomorrow (Sunday 15th January, 2012), with a daytime, weekday menu to commence, too, from Monday. Best of luck to them, but I reckon they should look to the King's Arms for a heads-up on the direction/identity they're aiming for! As is, 'local village pub' it ain't!
